I live in Iowa, and we have a small grocery chain called Fareway. Their bakery has the biggest and best tasting Monster cookies I’ve ever had. For those of you who are friends with me on Snapchat, you have seen my videos of devotion for these small slices of heaven. And guys….I not only made a Monster cookie that is as big as my head, but it also tastes better than the one I have loved at Fareway. They are soft, chewy, and addicting.
I have decided to share this recipe, because it is just so good, and a bonus- it’s gluten free! I added this recipe under my ‘Recipe’ page. Note- learn from my mistakes and do not try to make 2 batches of these at once… my trusty Kitchenaid could not handle it.

I roughly used a 1/2 cup measuring cup to portion out the dough, and then rolled each portion into a dough ball.

Yield: 11-12 Cookies the size of your head
Ingredients
- 16oz jar peanut butter
- 1 stick of butter (room temp)
- 1 3/4 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 cups old fashioned oats
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup M&M’s
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. I recommend having 2 cookies sheets with parchment paper for these cookies, and bonus- you can reuse the same pieces of parchment for the entire batch.
- In a large mixing bowl combine peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla and stir until combined.
- Add the oats and baking soda. Stir well.
- Mix in chocolate chips and M&M’s
- Use 1/2 cup measuring cup to portion out dough, then roll all 1/2 cup of dough into a ball.
- Place 3 dough balls on a cookie sheet at once so they have room to spread.
- Bake for 12 minutes then press down dough ball with a fork, and back for another 7 minutes.
- Let cool on the sheet pan until you need to use the pan again in the next rotation. Place on cooling rack, then place in container or bag to maintain freshness.
